Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Seen the movie, love it, no complaints there. I have an issue with this combo pack, I love all the special features that comes with most dvd's. No where in the description of this product did it indicate that you can only watch that disc if you have a blu-ray player. We plan on eventually purchasing one, but all the same if I had known I couldn't see the special features without one I would have chosen a different dvd pack.

This is what I was worried about. Are there any special features at all on the DVD in the pack? Even deleted scenes? I bought the combo, but haven't opened it. I don't own a blu-ray player yet, but I wanted to watch the special features soon. :-/

You are right. None of the heavily promoted special features are viewable on DVD players - they are viewable only on Blu-Ray players. I was confused by the advertising, too. Not only is this deceptive advertising, it is a cynical ploy to 'motivate' consumers to purchase Blu-ray players and the expensive Blu-ray discs.
Complain to the Federal Trade Commission:
The 2 disc DVD set with extra content is sold only at Walmart. WB signed a deal giving Walmart the exclusive right to sell the 2 disc DVD set in the USA. This is not widely known. It is grossly unfair.
The two-disc set costs $16.96 (plus tax) online and $19.96 in the stores.
