5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Versitile Thumbdrive, July 15, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kingston Digital DataTraveler SE9 16GB USB 2.0 DTSE9H/16GBZ (Personal Computers)
Although it was even tinier than I expected, it was exactly what I was looking for. And when others say that it has a snug fit, believe them - at first I didn't think it was going to fit into the USB connector ... and then I had to get a really good hold on it to get it out. But all of that is good! The only thing I discovered that was wrong in its description was that it CAN be used with an older iMac running Mac OS 10.4. I was able to transfer a few gigabytes of data files onto it from my PowerPC iMac and then plug them directly into my Windows 7 laptop without any problem. The only surprise there was that when using a 16GB thumbdrive it takes several minutes to move all those gigs! But with 16GB capacity it doesn't fill up very fast. I didn't have to worry about having enough space.

I'm sorry, Roger. Can you please clarify about the product's use with an older Mac? I bought the product because online it stated the device is compatible with Mac OS 10.4 versions, but now that I have received the drive I am hesitant to open as the packaging states otherwise. It seems the drive still works with the older operating system, but I want to confirm that you had success before opening the product.

Thank you!

Alexis

I have successfully used this thumb drive on an PowerPC iMac running OSX 10.4.11 to store and pass files back and forth with an Intel i5 running Windows 7.
