5.0 out of 5 stars All I Can Say Is "WOW!", April 29, 2012
This review is from: Razer Tiamat Over Ear 7.1 Surround Sound PC Gaming Headset (Personal Computers)
To be honest, "WOW!" is really an understatement for this headset. I am far too impressed by the performance delivered from this product. Just the physical attributes themselves makes this headset all the more worth it. The retractable mic, the glossy finish, the comfortable fit, and most of all, the amazing sound that is produced from this headset will surely satisfy. I'll make thise review brief, so here is the rundown. Chat quality is superb on both ends. No static can be heard(unless on a very bad connection) and voices sound crystal clear. I tested the mic with some friends in a private lobby and all said they heard me perfectly. The gameplay audio is some of the best I've ever heard from a gaming headset, period! With 10 drivers strategically located on each ear cup, you couldn't ask for more. The perfect balance of bass, volume, and treble is found right here. The volume/adjustment pannel is very stylish and allows you the ability to tweak your audio settings just the way you like it. I personally found the design of the pannel very cool and unique. For the design; as i'm sure you already know, It's sleek, durable, good looking, and unique. The only thing that set this product off 0.1 percent from a perfect 10, was the presence of wires. It could just be me but I found it a bit annoying having all those extra cords in my way. Other than that, this headset is outstanding! Overall, this product is amazing in just about every aspect. I am positive that this will satisfy anyone who takes intrest in the luxury of hearing gameplay to its fullest potential. Oh, I forgot to mention; it's only $180! I've bought turtle beaches more expensive than that lol. And to keep things "100" they dont compare. Hahaaa!

Hope you guys enjoyed the review! \m/(>_<)\m/

Ethan says:
So would you recommend the Tiamat over the Megaladon or no?

I am debating is the difference in money for a Megaladon or Tiamat .....

In reply to an earlier post on May 28, 2012 12:40:33 PM PDT
I don't have the tiamat but I have the megalodon, which I love soooo much! Having said that, the megalodon has just one driver on each ear, so I'd be foolish to even think of comparing it with the tiamat that has FIVE drivers on each ear. Moreover I love the retractable mic, the the volume console is gorgeous to say the least. I'm already considering listing my megalodon for sale on amazon.

Ethan, you are comparing apples to oranges - the Megaladon is a 7.1 virtual surround USB headset with one driver (speaker) per head piece. The Razer Tiamat is a 7.1 true analog surround sound headset (four separate analog pins that plug into a compatible 7.1 capable sound card) with 5 drivers (speakers) per head piece! The sound separation in the 7 channels and subwoofer are absolutely amazing and something that virtual surround headphones will never achieve. I know! I own a pair of Corsair Vengeance 2000 7.1 virtual surround sound USB headphones and a pair of Logitech G930 7.1 virtual surround sound USB headsets and neither come anywhere near the quality of the new Razer Tiamat 7.1 analog surround sound headset. Do yourself a favor and sell those old outdated Megaladons and get yourself into the world of true sound - the Tiamats are truly awesome!
