This review is from: Step on a Crack (Michael Bennett) (Hardcover)
As some of the most powerful people in the world gather to mourn the loss of a former first lady, one man plans the unthinkable...
Detective Michael Bennett is struggling to deal with his wife's illness, as well as provide support for his ten children when he gets the call that St. Patrick's Cathedral is under attack.
Inside St. Patrick's, billionaires, politicians, and stars of every kind fear for their lives, as masked gunmen hold them trapped, but on the outside, Michael Bennett is pulling out all the stops to bring down a madman, and save lives.
`Step On A Crack' is not one of the best Patterson novels written, it does move fast, but the plot loses steam half way through, and by the time the climax is reached the reader could care less. I'm not sure what is going on with Mr. Patterson, but many of his recent novels have been written with partners and they are hit or miss, with most being a miss, leaving the reader to wonder if the partner is doing the bulk of the writing...It might be time for the partnership writing to come to an end. While this is not a terrible novel, it's definitely not up to the typical Patterson standards that his readers have come to expect. Fans of his superior Alex Cross, and Women's Murder Club series will be disappointed.
