I bought this because my old discwasher from the seventies was falling apart. What a rip off! This does not have the fibers that point in one direction that actually pick up dust and dirt, like the original product. Thank you for explaining a better & correct manner to clean vinyl records. I will endeavor to find the very type of brush that will clean my collection before I attempt any burning to my pc. What might a proper cleaning liquid consist of & how should it be used?

We just bought a turntable...the first one we've had in YEARS...and have started acquiring albums. Virtually all are in need of intensive cleaning, so we knew we needed a record cleaning kit. Thankfully, I checked the Amazon reviews before purchasing the piece of junk that RCA is peddling as being a "discwasher." Unfortunately, this type of thing is rampant these days - the brand name means absolutely nothing anymore.

We'll keep our eyes peeled for a vintage (aka: REAL) Discwasher on eBay. Thanks again for the very useful info!
