Un-skippable spoilers, right when you pop it in.,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Game of Thrones: Season 2 (DVD)
Don't get me wrong: I love Game of Thrones. It is one of my favorite series of all time. I've watched every episode to date with enthusiasm.
This review is about the un-skippable ad at the beginning of the DVD, completely loaded with spoilers.
I got this DVD as a gift for my friend who hasn't seen any of season 2. They were spoiled within 30 seconds of watching by this ridiculous advertisement. Why on earth would anyone think it a good idea to force-advertise the show that is already being watched?? What an atrocious marketing department these guys have.
It's this reason alone I have to give this product 1 star, as it manages to completely ruin itself literally within 30 seconds of hitting "Play". If you give it as a gift or for yourself, just be warned.

Spoilers in this kind of show are unacceptable, they can ruin the whole experience. I've been avoiding spoilers for a while already trying to get into it without any previous knowledge of the developments, but they're everywhere.

There are spoilers before each episode, too - We've gotten to the point to where we say - "look away, look away!" until we can get the DVD to start because every episode starts with a little spoiler-y description of what is going to happen.
I remember HBO did this on their "True Blood" DVDs, too. Lame.

maybe someone needs to watch the first season instead of skipping?? its meant to be a reminder for the people who have seen season 1 and starting season 2...

Thanks for calling this out, hopefully the studios will start paying attention if enough people complain. It really takes away from the experience!

I just got the Season 2 DVD (non-Blu Ray). I saw the beginnings of an ad so I hit the Next Chapter button. It went right to the Episode Selection. So am confused about the un-skippable aspect as, at least on my inexpensive Samsung Blu-Ray player the ad skips just fine.
As far as the spoilers before each episode reported in a comment, if you mean the few lines of text you can just hit Play and not read it. But they are no more "spoilers" than what any TV listing will have when you use a TV Guide type mag or web page.
