Completely agree. I knew the post was going to be funny when he dropped the line "When will George Lucas stop fisting me...???" LOL

ROFL!!!
That was great!!! I must admit, I am more a Star Trek fan than a Star Wars fan, but I loved the original theatrical versions of Star Wars. Although, to be honest, I could have done without the Ewoks. Killer Teddy Bears just didn't do it for me. Not even at the age I was when I saw it. I was in Best Buy the other day and did see the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD and it said it came with the original theatrical version. I was excited about that. That's the one I want to see! But, then I remembered some of the reviews on here about the "The Original Theatrical Version" being altered, i.e. the actors from the last three movies being put in at the end of Jedi instead of Alec Guiness and the others. Supposedly to "Maintain Continuity." Continuity? So what? I want what I saw! Not only because it was a cool story, but because it brings you back to better days, y'know? I was twelve when I sat in the theater with my mouth open going, "Whoa! Check out Vader!" As a Trek fan, I totally feel for you. If you go to the Star Trek stuff, you'll hear the same gripe from us. Same thing, re-packaged and put out every so many years. Sometimes, it seems like the only ones who care about the integrity of both franchises is us, the fans. It comes to a point where it's blatantly being bled for whatever dime they can get out of it. And when Lucas started doing it with Star Wars i.e. Star Wars, Star Wars: Special Edition, Star Wars: Luke has new hair, Star Wars: We Found Five More Minutes on the Cutting Room Floor to Throw In There, it just became too much. It is possible to destroy a masterpiece. Just keep going back and changing things saying, "I can make it better," and you'll destroy it. Star Wars, like Jaws, like Close Encounters of the Third Kind, like Raiders of the Lost Ark are all movies that can stand the test of time. They don't need to be changed. It's sad. But, it looks like Star Wars, like Star Trek, has just become a tool to get peoples' hands in your pockets year after year after year, because they know you're loyal, and sooner or later, you'll cave and you'll buy it. Thanks for that review, man. You've spoken for more people than you know. THAT'S NO STAR! THAT'S A SPACE STATION!!

I agree. I have a dream release for this series and it is the following.
The Definitive Collection - Blu-Ray Disk 1: All Three Original Trilogy Theatrical Release movies with THX sound. Remember the VHS Boxset with the new covers everyone was complaining over but eventually got over, tapes? Those are still THE best version of this trilogy you can get. It contains no enhancements except the sound and boy is it good. Whatever Commentaries exist and maybe even the DTS version as an alternative Audio selection. Disk 2: The 2004 DVD Special Edition. For the fans who wants the latest and greatest and for those of us who might want to just delve into the future a little. Disk 3: Episode 1, II and III Original Theatrical Release Disk 4: Making of Documentaries and anything else perhaps the Star Wars Holiday Special and/or The Clone Wars Animation. This is it! This is what fans want! We want all of this in ONE single release. There, you don't have to release ANYTHING else. Nothing! This is the final release. Please please please make this a reality.

Absolutely 100% agree with your comments. Funny as hell. And it sounds like you put a lot of thought and effort into writing it, which is why I would suggest you edit the post so no humorless idiot gets it pulled due to "inappropriate" content. Anyway, just my thoughts on your great "review." BTW, loved your part in Shriek of the Lycanthrope.

Knowing Lucas, this is probably never going to happen.

Also, an audio option of "John Williams award winning score" would be nice as well, hell even instead of director's commentry.

I 100% agree with Jonathan. Why mess with a good thing? Is there a petition we can sign to prevent Lucas from ruining the Star Wars series any more than he's done already? (Cough! Clone Wars animated series) I'll be the 1st to sign.
