This review is from: Sony NEXVG10 Full HD Interchangeable Lens Camcorder (Black) (Electronics)
Menus instead of buttons is annoying. Lack of Mac compatibility is a real problem. LCD Monitor does not rotate 180 degrees. Very front heavy. Wish it recorded EX1 fomat instead of that AVChd.
Lack of power zoom is just fine with me.
I originally ordered this from a NY dealer. First my "in stock" order was changed to a 'a preorder status' then it was at least another week of "being packed for shipment and you can't cancell your order", I finally called and cancelled my order, Then reordered from OneCall in Oregon which is a company like Norman Camera with good people and great service. Will never order anything from NY dealers. This time I really mean it!
Camera will get a lot of critisism, especially for the moire effects but I think it is a great camera for that price.

"I've tried out" 1.-this camera is made to those, who work for SONY VEGAS, 2.-this is and hybrid camera betwen pro cameras, and handycam... for those who are NOT professional but feels like they're not amateur EATHER, «RAW files are good is you're photographer, raw's file is not and option is you workflow VEGAS! «This is a SONY camera, SO SONY VEGAS actually a sony Software». If you're Intuitive, shall see "THIS CAMERA CAME with sony vegas platinum 10 a so on that make perfect sence, "THE RIGHT CAMERA TO THE RIGHT SOFTWARE". Also may add "you need a preparation to endorse this camera such concept like PAN, TILT, ZOOM as STEADY CAM DOES, "THIS CAMERA IS NOT FOR PROFESSIONAL" «they ussually will buy a professional camera» "this camera is not for those whose actually engaged with Handycam Gadget" «This camera is for START-STOP «IMAGE AND PHOTOS» "SO BE CREATIVE" «IS NOT A CALCULATOR LIKE SHOT AND FORGET» This camera is for creative people, for people in order to increase their Skills Shooting.

Thanks for the review, especially concerning a Mac. I'm in the market for my upgrade and had been eyeballing this cam until I read your review.I had recently bought a Sanyo HD and ended up returning it because of this same issue, one they don't like to mention till AFTER you buy it. It was a royal pain and I don't want to repeat that mistake here, even tho some clown will chime in and say' whad'ya mean?it's compatible' and true, there's usually a "back door" into an answer but I like to leave my shoes at the front!

i think the problem is with Mac because they only want to use their format for anything its not Sony's fault or any other company thats not compatible with Mac

Thanks, and I tend to agree. While doing research I remember some blurb somewhere that mentioned they(Sony) made a "fix" so that it IS now. Have you heard anything about that?
