Compact, powerful and casual video camera, December 25, 2008

We bought this video camera after a little bit of research. I am not a professional video photographer. I instead do a little bit of still photography. So after we bought this one for our casual video shoots, I found it pretty neat and worth its price.
Pros:
1) Slim, light weight.
2) Pretty good image and voice quality
3) Sensitive inbuilt mic
4) Little bit of zoom function. Not great though.
5) Good battery life
6) Neat software
This is pretty handy, you can just pop it in your pocket and go.
Switches on in seconds and ready to shoot. You can see my video to figure out the image quality. Another cool thing about this device I liked is the software which is pre-installed in it. You do not need to install any softwares in yoru PC to make it work. You plug this in in your USB and there you go. The software starts by itself and lets you do downloading, mixing and little bit of editing right there. It also has this feature to directly put yoru videos in youtube, facebook and other places.
Cons:
1) If you shoot while moving, the images shake and do not come out very good.
2) The plastic casing is not strong and looks pretty cheap. But then, its only a fraction of price for what you pay for a sony or canon video camera.
3) Does not have a lens cap or anything to protect the lens. So be careful and do not scratch the lens opening. Always use the pouch which comes with the package.
4) does not come with a replaceable battery. So if the battery goes bad, you probably have to throw it.
Summary:
Though, it is not supposed to replace your consumer category video camera like sony or other brands, but it does pretty neat job for its size and price. It comes with a nice little pouch which you can use to store this device. Its very light and handy. You can take it to anywhere without really worrying. Battery life is pretty decent atleast for the timebeing. I am not sure how it will behave after being used for long time. I hope this review is helpful for you to make a buying decision.
