THE BEST JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER! A must-have!,
This review is from: Looney Tunes: Golden Collection, Vol. 3 (DVD)
The first Looney Tunes DVD set was a smash hit, garnering rave reviews and huge sales. Over 50 WB cartoons, meticulously restored (and not computerized to look "new" like Disney does) and surrounded by wonderful special features, made it many folks'
choice for disc of the year. Nonetheless, there's always someone out there to have to have something to complain about, and thinking this was the only Looney DVD set ever to be released they bemoaned the lack of 2 cartoons inclusion, ONE FROOGY EVENING and WHAT'S OPERA, DOC?
Vol. 2 followed last year with even more great cartoons, and yes,
those 2 cartoons that seemed to be overlooked in V.1 (they weren't, they just hadn't been restored by WB yet) were included, and it was a sensational release, although the complainers who raised hell about the lack of Roadrunnner and Tweety on V.1, complained about too much of them on V. 2.
This V. 3 seems like the answer to a true animation fan's dreams.
Lots of rarities, lots of favorites. More B&W, new documentaries, and all sorts of exciting things.
The shorts selected for this collection are impeccable, and I guess we have Jerry Beck to thank for that. He's the brains behind these wonderful DVDs.
Kudos to all!
