How Reacher became the nomadic hero that we love,
This review is from: The Affair: A Jack Reacher Novel (Hardcover)
I loved this book! As a rule, I will read anything that Lee Child writes, anything that Lee Child recommends, and anything that Lee Child might even use as a coaster- he's just that good. This book is probably my favorite of his (It's just SO hard to pick one). Lee introduces us to Jack Reacher when he was still an MP. Reacher is sent on a mission to help find a murderer in a small town, and potentially cover up any army scandal. Lee, as always fills the book with visually pleasing descriptions, strong character development, and helps us see into Reacher's oh so interesting past. I read this in one sitting- a tough task as a working mom of 5- but it can be done!

I'm confused by your comment, but wish I was Lee's daughter - I might not have to work as hard as I do. Or his publisher- now that would be an amazing job. But alas, I am just a devoted fan that likes to read to escape my crazy life! What exactly does my review appear to be phishing for? You can read my other reviews by clicking on my link- and no I'm not Harlan Coben, John Hart, or Jeff Abbott's daughter either. Darn it!

Impressed by the way you handled the jerk, Jessica. Well done girl. You would think a man would know not to test a mother of five.

So you agree with Lee's choice to have Tom Cruise play Jack Reacher in all the Reacher films?????

Absolutely NOT! I was very upset when I heard that Tom Cruise was picked to play Reacher, but not surprised. I knew that Tom optioned the rights to make the films, so was worried he might try to headline. The good thing about Tom Cruise being attached to these books, is that he is a HUGE name and people will come out in droves to see the movie. Which will hopefully drive more traffic for the books. Aesthetically Tom is the wrong pick. Star quality- he will do!

I wonder if you went to go see the Cruise film. I generally avoid action-adventure films and did not think Criuse' stature was a good fit for the 6-6, 250-pound Reacher, but was pleased to see that at least Reacher's detective skills were represented in the film.
