This review is from: Heavenly Christmas (Audio CD)
I'm a big fan of this young girl with the magnificent voice. I have all her previous CDs and watched/listened to her on America's Got Talent. It is unbelievable the control and purity of tone she has. I am looking forward to hearing her over the next few years and I wonder what she will be like when her voice has fully matured.
As for "Heavenly Christmas" - I was able to get my CD a couple of weeks ago through a special offering at that local store that starts with Wal and ends with Mart. And the price was only $10 too so I feel incredibly lucky. I've already listened to it many times.
Every song on the CD is controlled, perfect in pitch but Jackie stills puts emotion into the songs. I also thought the orchestral arrangements were better on this offering - not quite as overpowering. I had no problem hearing her voice over the orchestra on any of the arrangements.
2. The First Noel - what a high note she hits towards the end - beautiful.
6. What Child Is This - one of my favorite Christmas songs and she definitely does it justice.
9. Walking In The Air - a British favorite from the animated film Raymond Briggs' The Snowman and originally sung by choirboy Peter Auty. We don't hear it often in the U.S., which is too bad because it's a gorgeous song.
10. Ding Dong Merrily on High - one of the best versions I've ever heard of this - she really seemed to have fun with it.
There really isn't a bad song in the bunch. I loved O Holy Night last Christmas and I love this one. Merry Christmas to all - maybe you'll get this CD in your stocking if you're a good boy or girl!
