4.0 out of 5 stars the touch screen has a mind of its own!, December 21, 2012

..The touchscreen was non-responsive and had to press the shutter release button to get it going. It has now settled down and is responsive. I think it is a matter of just getting use to a different touch screen. It's an excellent camera and if you can get over the initial hump, with the touch screen, I think it will become a good camera. The camera is learning your touches'. I wish there was a touch sense control to adjust.

I gave it a four star. I don't know if it is the camera, software or just this camera. But waiting for the touch screen to respond, is wasting my time. It's a nice multimedia camera, heavy as a brick, but powerful. Excellent macro and zoom.
Excellent controls, plus access to Android market gadgets and apps. If you can live with an ofter touch screen freeze up, this will make you happy.

Ah, good ol' Android. Got to love it! Seriously, though, that was probably caused by a process running in the background having some problems (the mail app is a pretty bad offender, I've noticed). The CPU get's overloaded and the device freezes for a moment or two.

That's the biggest risk of running full blown Android on a camera. You get all the connectivity and apps the device offers, but run the risk of missing a great pic if it freezes up. I try to keep the number of apps open on my Galaxy Cam to a minimum and make sure I am not connected to 3g or wi-fi unless I am not taking pics. Doing that will also extend the battery. So far, I haven't had really any issues as far as freezing goes (knock on wood).
