I enjoy strategy games and when I am forced to read text I usually consider it to be an annoying chore. So I had to clear my mind when I bought 999 because I heard that there is a lot of text. After I started to play I realized right away that the text in 999 is so well written that reading is what makes this game so awesome. There are puzzles that blend seamlessly into the story, however, I just wanted to keep reading because I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next. BTW, if you get stuck on a puzzle, there are FAQs in the internet that you can consult. After you finish one ending you'll want to play it again because it leaves you hanging and hungry for more. Each unique ending adds new information about the characters and/or the story. I have finished 4 out of the 6 endings and they have blown me away. I have never played a game that had me freaked out like this. 999 is easily one of the best games I have ever played. However, it is not for everyone because it is more of an interactive novel than a game. Do yourself a favor if you play this game - do it in a quiet place where there are no distractions like TV, people talking, etc. because they will detract from the chilling and suspenseful gaming experience.
