This review is from: SEA MISTRESS (Kindle Edition)
This was the first book by Nancy Morse that I read and I loved it! The story was a page-turner. I felt that the author could have ended the story in a couple of places and it still would have been very satisfying -- but she didn't, and it grew more complex and rich as it went on. As an historical novel, the story is framed within the context of the events of the day but without long tedious passages (sometimes used by others) that distract from the story or that the reader chooses to skip. The narrative was rich in details that reflected the author's historical research. I don't know how Nancy Morse can top Sea Mistress, but I'll find out when I read my next selection. Suggestions?
