This review is from: Amelia's Last Secret (Kindle Edition)
Having become aware of Amelia's mysterious disappearance back in middle school, I became seriously intrigued to find out one of my authors was releasing a an interesting "what-if" mystery novella. And it worked beautifully!
References to actual personality of quirks of Amelia's, her personal history as well as potential alternat angles of why she flew where she flew and what may have happened. But you don't only find out things from her perspective, nor time.
There's also a very respectable, very noble Navajo code-talker that's immediately likable during WWII and the same code-talker and his caretaker in 2012. It's not only the interesting uses of foreshadow through mundane objects with heavy meaning, but also little twists with little things that help give this story impactive emotion. Using actual news in the real world in our very own time helped make this story feel much more realistic (and, at times, all the more chilling).
Unlike all of Eric's other books, this has no connections to any of his other works in any way, which is a real good thing, since that would have ruined a mystery all its unique own.
For his first e-book, it's getting me to hope he does more real-life mystery e-book novellas (how about something for Lewis and Clark like you mention in the Aramis Black series? Please? ;).

Thanks for the review, Jason. Actually, this book does have connections to my upcoming full-length novels, in which I'll feature Lance Corporal Oliver Dale and Jane Graveley. Just thought you'd appreciate the little teaser. =)
