A Good Plot, But Too Much Hysteria,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Thousand Years of Darkness: a Thriller (Kindle Edition)
The main story isn't all that bad, however the ending will make you keep trying to "turn the page," to find out how everything ends. If the book was written to be the 1st of a two-parter, then it makes sense. Otherwise it's kinda frustrating and unfulfilling at the end.
What really drags the novel down is all the undisguised reference to the current president, describing in great detail dozens of things he's never done. It doesn't border on hysteria, it is hysteria. Skipping over all the italicized accusations can make the read go quicker and won't do anything to detract from the real story. The basic story is reality enough to be plenty scary on its own.
OTOH, if you're into Obama-bashing, you won't want to skip those chapter introducing parts.
