1.0 out of 5 stars Bottom line....does not work, October 4, 2011
This review is from: Clever Egg Cracker and Clever Scrambler
Been looking for a device like this for a long time. Something that can scramble an egg inside its shell to create a hardboiled, SCRAMBLED egg. The idea here was to make Scotch Eggs but with scrambled, as opposed to hardboiled egg.

The scrambler just doesn't work. I tested it on three eggs, really going at it from all angles, trying to scramble the yolk. Each time had the same result......a perfect hardboiled egg with the yolk completely intact. I suspect the problem is the needle just isn't long enough to get to the yolk. It should be roughly three times as long and swing in a much wider arc as it spins. great idea that failed due to poor chinese engineering, I think.

Oh yeah, and the egg cracker was terrible to. It shatters rather than splits the egg shell.

Yeah, you're right about the Chinese engineering (mean American engineering,w/ the Chinese switching the plastic), but I just shake the egg in a paint can agitator all night. Just right in the morning, put in the boiling water.

J. Jasa says:
I heard if you put the egg in the middle of an old sleeve, spin it to wind the sleeve up, then pull apart real fast so the egg spins like crazy and it should scramble it after about 12 spins. Never tried it myself but it should work. I might try a power drill. If I had some gears or somthing I could build a rig to get it spinning like crazy.
