This DVD is pure garbage. I plan to use it as a coaster.,
By A CustomerDon't waste your money on this one. The transfer is so bad that it is virtually unwatchable. This movie is a classic and it is just a shame that the producers of this DVD obviously have no respect for it. This is the last time I buy anything from this company.

Your review does not specify which edition of the film you're referring to. Since your review was written in 1999, it's almost certain that the cheesy edition you reviewed is long out of print. In 1999, "The Gold Rush" was in public domain and any company could legally manufacture a substandard copy of it. As of now, the only editions of this film available on home video are high quality authorized versions.
