This review is from: How to Build a Low-Cost House of Stone (Paperback)
I am author, Sharon Watson. Book is not out of print yet. You will notice I am selling autographed collectible copies for only $10 while supplies last. I am still living quite happily in my stone house, cozy and warm in Idaho's winters, cool in Idaho's summers. Lewis died in 1991. Live your dreams while you still can. I always lived in stone houses since I was born in Europe; the stone insulates the house against the heat in summer and the cold in winter, also I love the high ceilings that old stone houses usually have like the one I lived in as a teenager. Now I am thinking of moving and building a stone house in the country. I am just hoping my husband agrees with me on this. Thanks for the book, and I agree with you; we have to live our dreams while we still can.

D. Gunderson says:
I bought this book in the early 70's via the Whole Earth Catalog and thought that it told more of a story than just building a house. I remember the picture of the little girl in the 55 gal drum getting a cooling off after a day of effort during construction. It told a story of a family starting out on a shoestring. I wondered at times how the family turned out. Sorry to hear about Lewis. He seemed like a hands on guy.
