This review is from: Endgame: Bobby Fischer's Remarkable Rise and Fall - from America's Brightest Prodigy to the Edge of Madness (Hardcover)
This is a wonderful, very readable, book with lots of detail I imagine only those who knew Fischer personally could know. It is also very good at representing his humanity. His supreme Chess playing ability as well as the personality flaws each of us have, but he had more obviously than most. I was very reminded of biographies of great Entrepreneurs, like the "New New thing" by Michael Lewis which tells the story of Jim Clark of Netscape fame. The genius to win the prize is not the same as the skill to handle the life that comes with it. Frak Brady can be happy he has given pleasure and insight to many of Fisher's fans who, like me, never had the honour of meeting or knowing him. I congratulate and thank him for this great service.
