I've been a long time MacBook Pro user but being time for a new laptop decided to switch back over to PC to save some money. I'm very happy with this computer and have no regrets not getting an Apple product. The screen isn't quite as vibrant, it doesn't have backlit keys, and the speakers aren't as bassy as the MacBook Pro but the extra few hundred (depending on model) saved was well worth it. In a league of PC's it definitely holds it's own as well.
I put in a 120GB SSD, 8GB of ram, and a fresh copy of Windows 7 to get rid of the bloatware and it definitely improved the usability. The boot time is 17 seconds - and that's from pushing the power button to being able to actually do things in Windows. Really loving this laptop.

S. Timko says:
How much RAM can it take? Another seller says 16 gigs, Crucial says 8 gig and Acer says nothing on their Web site.
Update: I found out this model takes 8 gigabytes, max. Others can take 16 gigs.
