Sure we would all love a leather case for our Kindle, but they can be a little expensive. Upon receiving this case I put it on my Kindle and found that it fit the Kindle very well. The case is very comfortable in my hand and the zipper is a plus too because it adds extra protection. The price for this product is wonderful and you get a great case for a great price.

The leather case easily more than doubles the weight subverting the the touted lightness of the kindle 6.

The leather case does add to the weight, but it doesn't double it. The case is about 6oz, the Kindle is 8.5oz. Combined that is still lighter than many hardcover books. The big advantage to the case (either the leather one, or any other case that is designed like it) for me is that it allows the Kindle to be held like a book, with two hands, rather than both hands cramped onto the Kindle. Makes it much easier to have propped up on your lap or a pillow etc. Also with a slip-style case you have to remove the kindle and set the case aside somewhere, rather than a cover that is always attached.
That said, I have the leather one and while it is nice, it's nothing special. There are some competitor cases that are cheaper, and lighter.
