For His Eyes Only by T. Charcher,
This review is from: For His Eyes Only (Kindle Edition)
Jessie is a OIA agent working in Columbia. Her job is as a recon specialist, she makes sure the team can get in and out. Arriving early at the site of missions she makes sure there isn't a trap set. But sometimes even the best of teams can be discovered and this time Jessie's job as recon specialist has failed. The entire Green Team is dead, the kidnap victim they were trying to save is not where she was supposed to be and Jessie is on the run.
On the run from Colombian drug lords, on the run from quasi military guards and on the run from The United States government. Jessie has been tagged as a traitor and she will do whatever it takes to clear her name and protect her family. Even if it means alienating herself even more from her employers.
Cole Smith has been trying to track Jessie down. An operative who can find anyone Jessie proves elusive, but if he does catch up with her he has to convince her he's on her side. With as many secrets as Jessie is hiding could Cole be keeping even more?
Dangling both of the agents by strings their mutual boss wants a resolution to the problem and he doesn't care who takes the blame or the fall from grace. As long as he maintains his reputation as leader of the Blue Team. He has already thrown Jessie under the bus and Cole could be right behind her.
Together Jessie and Cole must find a way to work through their mutual distrust and solve the mystery of who is framing Jessie and threatening her family. But even though romantic sparks are flying between Jessie and Cole neither trusts the other. Somehow they have to find a way to work together to find who the traitor is.
With all of these spy/thriller/military oops books there is always the unbelievable escapes and lots of kick bootie action. But that is part of the fun and the reason we all read them. This one just happens to have really believable characters and action scenes.
Well written with good background information on the characters, interesting plot twists, secondary characters who move the plot forward with convincing dialogue "For His Eyes Only" keeps you riveted to your chair as you turn the pages as quickly as possible.
One of the best of this genre I have read in quite awhile it earns its 5 Stars easily. The plot was imaginative, the writing crisp and tight, the pace increased the tension to a driving force at the end and sprang a surprise right at the end. Well enjoyed.
