A Priceless Comedy Classic,
This review is from: Harvey (DVD)
You may not be able to see Harvey, but you will come to believe in him. He's a Pooka, a magical beast in the Celtic tradition, always quite large, and how are you Mr. Wilson. (That's what it said in the dictionary at the hospital when Wilson looked it up.) He's an invisible white rabbit, well over six feet tall, and he's Elwood P. Dowd's best friend. Elwood likes to drink, you see, and Harvey keeps him company down at Charlie's Place.
But Elwood's sister and niece don't really like living with Harvey anymore; he interferes with their social life. So Vita, Elwood's sister, decides to have him committed to a mental hospital. It gets more complicated, and extremely funny, after that.
Elwood is a very gentle man who has simply given up on facing reality. And he'll give you pause about just what constitutes "reality," too, and what it is or is not good for.
