3.0 out of 5 stars Caboki Preparation, August 26, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Caboki Hair Loss Concealer - Dark Brown 30G (90-day Supply) (Health and Beauty)
I've been using the dark gray product for four months covering a bald spot on the back of my head and want to share my experience:

1) Using this product daily requires that you wash and blow dry daily.
2) For Men wearing collared shirts, particularly white collared shirts, be prepared for numerous trips to the mens room to clean your collar from residue.
3) Be prepared for a 10 minute process every morning including cleaning the surrounding areas along with your ears and neck.
4) A 25 gram bottle lasts approx 15 applications.....not 75 days.
5) Be prepared to use a hair spray in order to minimize fibers falling off.
6) Be prepared to carry a mirror in order to view the back of your head.

Thanks for the review. However, I have the following experience
1. I did not have to shampoo and blow dry my hair daily. Infact I apply Minoxcidil first and then immediately apply caboki (just like dusting a talc powder) on my head. There has been no bad results.
I have one set of these products at house and one in office(in case I hurry over to office).
2. I have used white collared shirts and have not experienced any residue unless I do not touch my scalp and then my shirt.
3. It takes around 1 minute to apply minidoxil and 1 minute to apply caboki(but this is based on my case)
4. My 25 gram bottle has lasted for around 2 months so far. There is still some left.
5. The only annoyances that I have is when using white pillows to bed time. Or in the car seat headrest or sometimes the car interior ceiling(esp when I bump my head when trying to reach something from the back seat).
6. I use my smartphone camera to take a pic or video of my scalp when needed to make sure the spots are all covered ;-) mirror needed.
Other than all these, I have used both Minoxcidil and Caboki as the current concealer. Waiting for better technology.

I got the free sample, it is 9 gram. It lasts for 40 applications. I have moderate thinning on the back of my head.

Not having any "shedding" of the product and washing everyday is the normal for a lot of folks anyway. It says specifically not to use other hair products (like mouse, gel, conditioners, etc) before you apply the product because the electron attraction to the hair will be inhibited. Could that be a factor for you? You could avoid applying to your hair down close to the collar line-- you might be rubbing it off on your shirt if it's too close to your collar. And no, I do not work for Caboki-- I swear.

Pls what do you mean by 'unless I do not touch my scalp and then my shirt.' in your No.2 above?

You must have a large bald spot or over using product mine lasted for 6 months totally love! Also, If you can't see where you are putting product, cut off only 1/2 of the tape covering the pour spout it will control a better spread. (Works for me)!

I tap the product on whenever I need it. I put in om my brother in laws bald spot he couldn't believe it. This is a great product depending on how bald you are. For bald spots in the back it works great.

Two years ago, after I noticed my thinning hairline, I started using Caboki and minoxidil to cover up the spot. But since last year, I just QUIT. Too much time goes into these preparations. Plus who knows what the long term effects of these products are. So I just accepted the fact that I cannot win with nature at least for now. These days, I am going with a 1/8 inch hair clipper all around. It hides any white hair, as it is not noticeable. It also blends in my bald spot with other areas and is not noticeable again. No more minoxidil or caboki expenses. No more barber expenses. Only expense which I have is the hair clipper for now.
No more hair drying. No more hair products. No more shampoo, just simple moisturizing soap. Hair needs trimming every two weeks though.
