This book was pretty good. It was well written and easy to understand, and I forgave it for the intricate stupidities that generally come along with a Christmas story, such as the eye rolling moments of (why would anyone do blah blah and not question it.) I thought the author's did a good job of building up a story and giving you characters that you can half way care about. I thought the names of the main characters were a bit corny, but in keeping with the Christmas Carol theme of this book I guess I might've seen that coming. I wasn't sure how much I loved the undercurrent of "Thou shalt not divorce" in this book, as I thought it was supposed to be a Christmas story and therefore didn't feel like getting a Sunday school lesson at the same time unless it was about the birth of Christ. I think if you can except this book for what it is, a life lesson kind of deal wrapped in a red and green gift wrap, then you might love it. If you expect a simple feel good all is right with the world and always has been book, you might be disappointed. I came away somewhere in the middle. This book was not bad by any means. It was entertaining and thoughtful, but a bit session with the holiday shrink for my taste.
