I love history and WW II is one of my favorite subjects. I always wonder about Hitler and how he managed to lead a nation to such greatness and then to ruin... with devoted followers right to the end. I am not finished with it but one thing that really amazes me is that you cam substitute the word "congress" or "congressional" for "parliament" or "parliamentary" and he might be describing the state of political affairs in the USA in 2014. Our founders and our politicians about 150 years ago knew that the word "Democracy" was a bad word and a bad way of government. It is why they created a representative constitutional republic, instead of a democracy. He describes politicians who take no responsibility for what they do but who rather make it their main effort to gain the support of a majority of people... instead of leading and improving a nation. He accurately nails the weakness and evil of democracy but then through his live and actions he displays the evil of dictatorship. We live in a world where we have to impose upon ourselves the lesser of evils because of what and who we are. The Ford translation is as advertised, a good translation. It is worth reading if you can discern and think for yourself. Reading it wont turn you into a Nazi. Knowledge is power and everyone needs to understand history and rhetoric so that you can recognize what is happening today, so that, "we don't get fooled again".
