This review is from: SEO LifeBoat: A Beginners Guide To Google & SEO (Kindle Edition)
Julien E. Powell's "SEO Lifeboat: Surviving Google Panda and Penguin Updates" is a great tool for SEO writers, website owners, and the like. It discusses Google Panda and Penguin in easy-to-understand language that can help those working in the world of search engine optimization feel more confident that the tools they are using and the content they are creating will not penalize a site according to the new rules from Google.
The best part of this book, and the reason I gave it 5 stars, is that it presents everything in language that even novices in the SEO world can easily understand. Many key ideas that are just glossed over in other books are explained here in detail. This includes things like keyword selection and placement as well as thorough discussions of how content (and lack thereof) can signficiantly affect the search ranking of a page. It also lays out very clearly what a site needs to have and do (such as backlinking) to ensure high ranking in Google searches.
I was also impressed with the attention given to specific techniques which are believed to be useful for page ranking under the Google Panda and Penguin updates. These tips are laid out clearly and concisely, making it easy to implement them immediately.
Overall, this is a great tool for those in the SEO world and for those who are not already but should be, it is an informative tool to help them get started with SEO under the Panda and Penguin updates. Although there are some editing and proofreading issues that need to be resolved, that does not detract from the quality of the information presented.
