This review is from: Ron Santo: A Perfect 10 (Hardcover)
This book is an amazing tribute to Ron Santo. It's not meant to be a literary masterpiece. it is a great collection of rememberences from people who knew Ron and wanted to share their stories and affection for Ron. I only allowed myself to read it after my workouts when I got to sit by the pool at the gym and there were many times where I got very choked up and hoped nobody saw me crying. There was a lot of heartfelt tributes in the book as well as very funny stories. I had already left chicago when Ron started broadcasting so I missed all the Pat and Ron show but I did get to see him play and followed his antics on the tv games I got to watch. I liked how he called everybody "Big Boy" in the book. The stories by Ron's daughter Linda are so touching and real and I also loved the pictures especially the one with Leo Durocher and Milton Berle and Ron all posing together. For any Cub fans out there to miss this book is a big mistake. Am looking forward to Hall of Fame induction Day when Ron finally gets his due.
