This review is from: Destined (Paperback)
DESTINED by Patricia Haley is the second installment of the Chosen series. DESTINED is a modern day saga of the biblical characters David and Solomon. The series highlights a family at odds when younger brother Joel is named CEO of a thriving ministerial company much to the chagrin of the eldest son Don and his mother.
Having fled to South Africa, Don returns to gain control of the once thriving company, which is headed towards ruin because of Joel's spending, wheeling and dealing, and a host of other questionable actions. For Don, returning means leaving his own successful ministerial company in the hands of his capable assistant and possible love interest. Don has his work cut out for him if he wants to gain control of his father's former empire; other family members must become involved, namely a sister, who wants nothing to do with the company or their mother.
The secondary characters are the foundation of DESTINED. It is their stories that answers many questions left opened during the first installment. The imagery is vivid and the dialogue between the characters is realistic. The characters are indulgent, jealous, and self-absorbed, but throughout, the power of prayer and faith are showcased and provides an astounding culmination.
