Ummm, you DID see the part about "Region 1: U.S. and Canada only", right?

Ummm, you DO realize region coding can be changed on DVD players or bought region-free, or bought region-specific... man technology is WEIRD! :P

Adding on to what Stephen said, make sure that you have a dedicated DVD player for region one since it can only change regions so many times.

i'm british, and i have an amrican partner. she tells me that region free dvd players arn't big at all in the US, hence the confusion possibly

basically i, living in england, have two ways of playing these dvd's, which i will be pre ordering. i have set up an old computer with two DVD drives, one set to region 4, the other to 1. this means that not only can i watch and take screenshots from amarican dvd's, but i can potentially copy them in sch a way as to over ride this region nonsense

but all this falls into near redundancy, because i also have a TV dvd player that is set up to read dvds from any region. i have an amarican copy of fosters home too. panasonic will, for a fee, remove the region chip for you. for most players not made by panasonic, this can be achieved by a simple code. with my old dvd player, i had to have the draw open and a non region 4 dvd in the tray, i had to press "1, 2, 3, 4, select, play" or something, and WALLA! did that once and now i had a region free dvd player. in fact, i could put it back to region 4 only if i wanted by repeating the process backwards. you can easily find these codes online

for this reason, i think most folk in sunny england own region free dvd players. its not that big an issue. heck, my dad has amarican copies of british shows like dr who O.o

anyway, yeah, so, also ordering this from england :) its about frigging tme

the dvd player in most computers will play most regions and alot of tv's with built-in dvd players have both pal and ntsc playback, I also live in the Uk and have already ordered this set. Just wish they would do a soundtrack cd to go with it.

I see the preorder price is currently 10% off. They ought to make it 20% just because.

Perfect Blue says:
That only applies to PCs. People in the UK have been able to buy unlocked DVD players for years.
