me, Me, ME!,
This review is from: Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia (Paperback)Which was the "me decade"? Was it the '70s or '80s? For Gilbert it's apparently never ended. Even when she is being altruistic. Did anyone ever experience a bad divorce before, or have a relationship end badly? Poor, poor me. The solution: get a book contract and spend a year in exotic places finding yourself and a new husband. Not a bad gig if you can get it. But I did like the descriptions of Bali.

So is your criticism the fact that the author had the good fortune to get a book contract and go to Bali?

if every woman leaving a relationship - thru divorce or otherwise - was offered the chance to travel to 3 exotic places, and then write a book about it - there would be hundreds. After that experience we could have gotten a different outlook on life, and met some new interesting people. She was boring, and the movie even worse. And then she remarried?? well, guess she didnt learn anything and all was for naught!
