This review is from: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (Video Game)
First off, Ubisoft has come a LONG way. What I mean by that isn't in the sense that they started weak and have come out strong, but rather that they started strong and are finishing stronger, most particularly with the Montreal studio that developed this game. The best thing Ubisoft does is care about the entire game and the experience that game delivers to its' customers. i.e. Free DLC ( And not just this game, but games in the past, almost all of them, were given free DLC)
Now to talk about Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
First off, if the AMAZING price of [...] doesn't peak your interest, go watch some videos at gametrailers.com
Second, the multiplayer alone is so unique, it will grab you by the horns and keep riding you until you are exhausted and/or have to go to work because you forgot what time it was.
Most game developers, the big ones like Treyarch and EA, really try to get their game into your hands via the way of a great multiplayer system. While this works, what would happen if a developer not only delivers an amazing and satisfying multiplayer experience (WITH A FRIGGIN STORY TO BOOT), but also keeps you engaged in the single player story? This is what Assassin's Creed is all about; Connectivity. Creatively bridging the gaps of a real world feel to an amazing story and riveting experience. You get even more of a story (in particular a back story) within their Facebook game Assassin's Creed: Legacy, which I highly recommend! Not only is it a great supplement to an already fantastic single player story, but the Ubisoft team worked hard on each "Memory" to deliver a unique experience for each character you relive the memories of.
The gameplay is VERY fluid, and has improved with each game they have made. The kill combos will stun you. The sheer variety of Rome will make you explore every nook and cranny. And the great variety of missions will never let you say "Oh gosh, not this again" (AC 1 had that problem). I can not think of any thing that truly SUCKS about the single player experience. You will not be disappointed.
MULTIPLAYER: VERY VERY UNIQUE. But be warned! You yourself will BE CRAP at it for the first few games. Why you may ask? Well the mechanics are entirely different from single player. For one, you are never "Hunted" in single player, and in single player you are charged with being a lethal bad-arse that can also come out on top with a straight stand up fight. There is none of that in Multiplayer. It is all about the hunt, and how you proceed in killing your victim. For the Call of Duty fan boys who want to rack up the kills, STOP. I have come out on top of games as #1 with only four kills, whereas another person has gotten 10+. The reason why is MP grades you on style and execution rather than quantity; this also makes the game more intense! As you'll always be looking for ways to score points.
THE ONLY BAD THING About multiplayer is that Ubisoft, like most studios, did not expect a big following. The problem with that is the servers weren't ready for the utter awesomeness. Ubisoft has updated the servers, and things have gotten much much better. BUT THIS IS THE ONLY NEGATIVE. Enjoy.
