This review is from: TravelWise Packing Cube System - Durable 3 Piece Weekender Set [2014 Version] (Apparel)
So I have challenged myself to travel for 9 days in London/Paris with just a carry on. I knew it was possible, and I ordered three different brands of "packing cubes" to make sure I could meet my goal. I ordered this set from Travelwise, a cheaper four piece set, and then a 3 piece set from eBags. I wasn't sold on the purple color but it's a little deeper in person. These bags arrived first and I was impressed. They are heavy duty, but not heavy. The zippers are solid, and I am impressed with the thickness of the bag themselves, as well as the mesh. My set from ebags arrived today and I have to say I am disappointed. I love the color from ebags, but the quality is NO WHERE near these bags. They are much lighter, and thinner. The ebag cubes feel a little plastic like while the Travelwise cubes feel like a heavy duty One thing I really liked about these bags is that the handle on the bag is double stitched into the material at the top. The strap itself is pretty much the length of the bag, so you aren't pulling on a tiny strap to move it around. The ebags strap is only single stitch and is small in comparison. Although I haven't traveled yet, I can tell you that based on thickness and handle design, I am much more in love with this set than that ebags. The ebags will be going back!

The eBags are the thinner ones, with the less sturdy-sounding construction.

Size-wise are these the same as the eBag set? If not how do they differ? Thanks

I have been looking at these bags for some time and I dont really get the concept?? Is it just for organizing or does it help to get more in the suitcase? I was thinking the bags would take up space that could be for clothing? Thanks for any help. :)

I have been using packing cubes since 2008, when they were recommended to me by friends who are world travelers. Why I like them: makes packing easier, just fit filled cubes in your suitcase (like putting a puzzle together); use smaller sizes for holding the misc. items that get scattered around in your suitcase--chargers and cords, first aid supplies, accessories (scarves, etc.)--I'll put all beach/pool items in one, all formal/dressy accessories in one, all excursion items in one, etc; clothing doesn't shift around in your suitcase; like articles can be packed together, one can be taken out and the rest stay tidy; especially nice for trips where you have multiple stops and are taking things in and out of your bags several times, keeps clothing organized; nice for cruises or trips where you unpack once--take the cubes out, put them in drawers, unzip top to access contents and you're done; take an extra or two and use for dirty laundry, refold dirty items and put them in cube so clean and dirty don't get mixed up; much quicker when packing to leave.
