Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether (Baby Product)
Don't waste your money! This is a fake Sophie. After I washed it the first time, the squeaker broke on the inside. I couldn't believe it! How could something with such a high rating and good reviews break so soon? Since my daughter loved the thing I bought her another one right away, but this time at the store since it was more convenient. When I saw the two together I realized, the rubber is COMPLETELY different. Our old Sophie is hard and tough to bend, and the new one is soft and my daughter can easily bend and chew on it when she's holding it! Also, the spots are sooo cheap looking on this one! There is no comparison when you have the two together! Here are some links to my two Sophies next to each other!
One last thing, I don't want to get technical but it just bothers me that these fakes had the nerve to send this toy in the same packaging, with the same "papers" under Vulli's name. NOT cool.

Wow apparently they don't want links on the reviews.... here they are:

Just want to add that even the "real" Sophie has this problem. Our squeaker disconnected the second day (purchased August 2013)!
This poses a HUGE choking hazard. The squeaker easily disconnects inside the toy and can be worked through the hole, as in the posts below. Scary! (And I'm not usually overly concerned about things like that.)

Having looked at your pics, I'm not sure it was a fake. From reading reviews, the fakes don't have the number on the leg, which it looks like yours has.
