Crysis 3 is a Blast!,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Crysis 3 - Playstation 3 (Video Game)
I really enjoy good FPS games and this is definately one of them.
the single player is only about 5-7 hours depending what difficulty you choose
(difficulty doesn't add more time it just takes longer due to limited ammo)
the higher the difficulty you play on, the less ammo you can Carry.
overall the single player wraps up the story well enough
even though it does leave a few loose ends. overall the SP
was quite fun and I'd recommend it to any FPS fan. Crysis 3 is well made.
my only gripe about the Single Player is only Seven Chapters.
Crysis 2 had twelve.
The Multiplayer is the real Meat of Crysis 3 and offers a slew of new game modes:
this mode pits players in nanosuits against trooper enemies using the formidable bow weapon. Each of the troopers the Hunter team kills respawns as a Hunter - acting to slowly tip the scales in the Hunter's favor which is very
fun and quite a cool game mode.
a multiplayer mode returning from previous Crysis titles. In CS, teams face-off against each other on a map where an alien pod is dropped in a random location. The goal of the game? For each of the teams to capture the pod with points awarded to anyone standing in the pod's zone. this is my Favorite game mode so far. it's basicly Capture the Flag.
the longer you stay in the pods area, the more points you earn!
After a certain amount of time, the pod eventually detonates, shortly after, a new pod will be dropped in a different area of the map. Interestingly, for the first time, this mode will also feature the ability to comandeer the Pinger walker
(I love the Pinger Walker it's a super fun vehicle I just wish there were more)
Teams of Nanosuit-equipped operatives are dropped off by a VTOL. They must extract as many devices from separate locations on the map as possible in the five minutes available to them in each round?. The teams switch after 5 minutes, so attackers will become defenders and vice versa. pretty fun mode.
A Team of Nanosuit-equipped operative players must sneak between different consoles to download data. Their opponents, a player-team of CELL soldiers must work together to stop them. This is a single-life Game Mode in which defeated players cannot respawn until the current round has ended. (didn't like this one)
Capture the Relay:
Capture the enemy's relay and return it to your base to score. The
team with the highest number of captures wins. Matches are split into two rounds, with the teams swapping sides at half-time. (another awesome game mode)
Capture three Alien Spears while preventing the enemy from doing the same.
A captured spear emits a shield, providing some cover to nearby players. Once captured a team does not need to stay in the radius of the spear to acquire points. First team to earn 100 points wins. (kinda quick but Very Fun!)
Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch
kill enemies and reach score limit to win. (standard DM)
The current Level Cap for Multiplayer is Level 50. At the point where you usually would reach Level 51 your Nanosuit will reboot, setting you back to Level 1 but with the added ability of using CELL weapons and granting you an exclusive dog tag. You can repeat this cycle multiple times and you'll get dog tag rewards each time.
The usual Experience system is in place and as you play you unlock
new weapon attachments and also new weapons, mods, grenades, pistols etc.
there are also killstreaks that vary from mode to mode.
The alien weapons are a blast to use and really up the fun factor
of the multiplayer as the new vehicles do (the VTOL and Pinger)
The Maps with Game Release are:
if you're a big FPS fan and enjoy stealth options you definately
want to try this game it's got a really good (though disjointed) story
in the SP and the MP adds loads of replay value. the new maps
are a blast as well with really nice environments and loads more
Graphics: (PS3) Excellent with no lag or framerate drops 5 stars!
Sound: excellent ambient noises as well as the nanosuit all sound excellent 5 stars
Gameplay: Superb Gameplay love the stealth options as well as Armor! 5 stars!
Fun: the SP really didn't float my boat like the Multiplayer did
and still does. the enemy A.I. has it's good and bad moments so I prefer MP.
it's just so fantastic to sneak up on a real player
and break their neck without them ever seeing you. ahh good times. 5 Stars!
Overall: if the singleplayer had been a 8-12 hour campaign
I would have easily givin this game five stars all across the board
but with the SP being so short and easy to plow through I had to take off
one star since I wanted MORE!! the Multiplayer is truly what you
are buying here and is worth every penny. it's a blast to play
especally now with the predator bow and salvagable alien weapons
really add loads more fun and I'd recommend this to any FPS fan
4 stars overall (so close to five it's more like 4.5 stars!
