A Fresh Frost,
This review is from: Frost (Stork Trilogy) (Hardcover)
Frost, author DelSol's follow-up to STORK, picks up where we want it to: with Katla and Jack, a freak snow storm, fresh tension and new problems. Lot's of new problems. FROST continues with the same snappy contemporary prose and blend of romance and intrigue established in STORK, but that's where the similarities end. While one reviewer commented that FROST left "loose ends" (and referenced Chekhov's "cannon" when it's actually a gun...) this reader found DelSol's plot choices surprising and fresh. Quite often subsequent books in a series feel like a mere refigured version, thinly-disguised repeat of the first book. But this reader felt that DelSol took a chance to push the existing story and characters outside of what they did in the first book to produce another fresh original in a related series. No small task.
