great material, so-so execution,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The fleece material of this scarf is high quality--thick and warm. And the scarf part is very long, which is good for wrapping around multiple times if you like that sort of thing. The design of the scarf could use improvements, however, at least from the point of view of those (like me) trying to brave cold and windy conditions (Chicago). The item is made of two separate pieces of material--the hat part and the scarf part, which were then sewn together to make a single unit. The problem with this design, given the relative thickness and stiffness of the fabric, is that it makes it impossible to cover the lower part of one's face with the scarf without causing gaps in the hat area in front of your ears. So either your ears are warm and your cheeks are cold/exposed, or your cheeks and neck are more protected and your ears are exposed to a blast of cold air coming in through the gaps on either side of your face. The fabric is not stretchy or clingy enough to correct this problem. Also, the peak of the hat is very pointy--kind of wasted material and not very attractive or functional. I mean, if want a "French Lieutenant's Woman"-type romantic looking hood, then this would fit the bill. But if you are looking for something that will actually keep your head, cheeks, ears, and neck warm at the same time, I would keep looking.
