Rosie Thomas has a strong influence from Joni Mitchell - nothing new about that. But Rosie really makes her influences her own and has an overall sound and style that quickly makes you become much more interested in simply listening than in deconstruction. I've met Rosie a couple of times and she seems like a really genuinely good person. Plus, she is also a stand-up comic with an alter-ego named Shela who wears coke-bottle glasses and is perpetually clad in a neck brace (usually from a recent horse riding accident). I bought this CD for myself AND my Mom!
