Check out what's inside!,
This review is from: Sassy Bathtime Pals Squirt and Float Toys (Baby Product)
We have 2 sets of these and our son really loved them. Today the whale cracked open and I was horrified at what was inside-- thick black sludge of mold! Because there's no way to truly dry the inside of these toys, the water collects and creates the mold. Super gross. We've thrown all of them away and would highly recommend against this product.

Allen Heiner says:
I saw online that you can hot glue the little holes so that water cannot enter them. Not a bad idea. I haven't tried it yet, but am probably going to buy these and will try it with them before I let my daughter use them for the first time. It's worth a try! Much easier than constantly trying to empty them of water.

Allen - although that seems like a good idea, it kind of defeats the purpose. These are *squirt* toys, and removing the hole, will not allow them to be used for squirting. :)

You could always clean them with warm vinegar/water or with water with bleach in it.

This same thing has happened with every set of little bath quirt toys we've had (Munchkin brand and Babies 'R Us)... it's nothing to do with this set specifically, it's just the design of these toys overall. They're disposable... use them for a couple months and then get a new set.
