This review is from: Hugo Folding Cane - Black (Health and Beauty)
I agree with most of the good reviews, except those who say it is easy to fold and to adjust for height.
I have arthritis and though I still have some strength in my hands (I can easily lift 20 lbs with either) they are not as strong as they use to be. The cane has a heavy rubber/elastic band running down the shaft so that it can pop in place and unfold itself and you have to pull against this band to fold it - I barely have the strength. The band is there so it will unfold itself, which some may see as a plus, but it means you must always lug around this heavy rubber band that comes with it to wrap around it so it will not unfold as soon as you fold it - I am bound to lose it soon. Also I have long legs, and like the 6'1 man says in his review, unless it is adjusted to its shorter lengths, it is still very long even when folded. You also need some strength to adjust the height. I dislike the handle, (it feels good, but it is very shiney plastic looking) but you can get other handles from Hugo's web site for $7 (including shipping), some of whom looked very nice.
But it is very sturdy and very much worth the price. The manufactures site sales it for $30 and I saw the same cane elsewhere for $37.
