This review is from: Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia (Paperback)
Elizabeth is one of the most self-centered people whom you will ever get to know. She is also insecure and spends hours, weeks, months, trying to figure herself out. This kind of book had to be written by her. Most people would not know how to talk this much about themselves. I did learn from her. In the future, I will try to be more understanding of friends who are like her. I learned more about Rome, meditating, and Indonesia.
Elizabeth does have some strenthgs. She is bright. Her writing style is entertaining most of the time. She is open beyond belief telling about her bladder infection and more. I admire that she was committed to learning Italian. She is very good at meeting new people and establishing relationships in new and strange environments. I respect that she sucessfully sold this book!!!
I kept thinking about how she grew up to be so sad, insecure, and focused on herself. Did her parents give her praise and tell her she was the center of the universe?
Now that I have pointed out her faults, I would like to copy her trip to Rome.
