5.0 out of 5 stars The sound of God's rage witnessing the failure of a civility, June 26, 2013

This review is from: American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation's Character (Hardcover)
If you needed to read only one book on the modern history, I claim this one ought to be it. I wished I could read "American Betrayal" in one huge swallow, yet I was reading it carefully line by line (my 2nd language English being stretched to its limits in order to follow the linguistic brilliance of the book).

Just one single phrase about the salient difference between sovetskih (capable to offer the West only a proverbial "rope") vs. islam selling oil - could make a book!..

However what really shook me was the meticulous details and historic traces brought by the author together - all confirming what I knew only shallowly by hints, intuition or my own life experience. Not only was I shaking myself while reading, but I also felt the author shaking when writing about this. And I had a guess why... Impatient, I took a quick look through - and my guess was confirmed: Ms. West DID FIGURED OUT the Icebreaker concept first revealed by V. Suvorov!.. However Ms. West has described and documented it all from the American side of the story... The reality is sickening: So sickening that it profoundly disturbs the mind with questions how to go on and cope with it...

... Load the 9th Symphony of Beethoven, the 1st movement. Turn on the full volume of your audio while the opening theme just begins hardly audible: You know, those descending fifth and fourth... The Crescendo follows growing into thunderously exploding theme nearly breaking your ear drums (at full volume)! That's the sound of the Last Judgment! The sound of God's rage witnessing the miserable failure of the civility in the so called best and brightest part of the humanity (which America was).

This was what I felt reading this book - the record of a grotesque failure of the civility and humanity in the nation which I believed to be a beacon of the civilization. I have known some of the facts. I was puzzled and embarrassed with what I knew, yet this systematic exposure of the big picture with many facts never known to me made me sick. In certain moments my desperation reached the point that I whacked my fists in a helpless rage against the desk!..

... Follow how the opening theme of the 9th reappears later... Listen the crescendo of the kettle-drum supporting the re-emergence of the theme in triple forte. Listen, and tremble, and recall the lives of all of our immediate ancestors used as a fodder to build this "new brave" satanic world; Used to make "this proverbial omelette" for which the rulers needed to "break a few eggs".

And now we are deemed to go on with our lives on ruins of the Judeo-Christian civilization wondering, whether this nation will ever manage to re-assemble the pieces together, and how much it will take.

When I first read the Russian edition of the Icebreaker in 1992, then living in Moscow, I realized that its plot begs for re-writing of the entire modern history. And now Ms. Diana West did it.

She re-wrote the modern history, but stopped short at the doorstep of the present, leaving us on our own to contemplate how our past has prepared the ground for our despicable present. The present story begs for the next book, as powerful as this one: The book which would connect all new dots, such as uncovered by J.B. Williams. Only between 2003 and 2008 alone there were eight attempts in the US Congress to rid of the Constitutional requirement for a presidential contender to be a US natural born citizen: Years before the name of Obama appeared on the political horizon. And those were just the first dots, the first attempts of paving the way for usurpation of the US presidency by a person with uncertain names Obama-Soetoro-Soebarkach-Bounel... "American betrayal" comprehensively documents the steps and stages of the past which ushered us into this present.
