This review is from: Slackernomics: Basic Economics for People Who Think Economics is Boring (Kindle Edition)
Once you get over the fact that the author does not like liberals - you actually do learn something from his many examples. If you know nothing about the financial system of our country, you won't be that much more educated after reading this book - but you will at least be familiar with the terminology.

Franks' insistence that we must leave the rich to get as rich as they please or else we'll all be poor - is hard to swallow. He does makes some good points and certainly is correct on the flow of currency - but to blame the minimum wage hikes for keeping poor people poor is a lot like believing that millionaires only make money so they can keep us all working.

With all due respect, that simply isn't what I wrote. What I wrote was:

The economic community has studied this issue for the last 50 years in the United States and come to a fairly universal consensus:
1) Increases in the minimum wage tend to reduce the number of minimum wage jobs.
2) The effect of the unemployment tends to fall mainly on the poor and/or minority worker.
3) The chief beneficiaries of minimum wage legislation are middle-class persons who are:
a) Not the primary breadwinner of the family
b) The primary breadwinner working a second job
c) Teenagers
