This review is from: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (Combo HD DVD and Standard DVD) (HD DVD)
All I'll say is that you could skip the first 90 minutes of this movie without any real loss. It's pacing is incredibly slow and left my husband and I falling asleep by the end of it. The ending was the only redeeming quality of the film in that it was ironic to say the least considering Jesse James had a known reputation for shooting most of his enemies in the back. You really have to ask yourself who the real coward was.
The Dialogue is often muddied and difficult to hear. My husband had to man the remote almost constantly because you either couldn't hear what they were saying, or your head was being rattled due to the loudness of it. My husband says that the movie's soundtrack was not mastered well.
My husband is a big fan of a well done western. He even likes such movies as Rio Bravo (not considered to be one of John Wayne's best films because it is considered to be a bit slow), so when we say this movie was slow, we mean it was REALLY slow.
3:10 to Yuma was a much better film that moved along at a good pace.

You left me wanting to know more! What are you making your husband for dinner tonight? Who does your husband think is going to win the election? What are your husband's thoughts on the upcoming Oscars?

I guess fast-paced editing makes a good movie. Who knew?
