Needs More Depth,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 101 Saxophone Tips: Stuff All the Pros Know and Use (Sheet music)
Overall I found this a pretty disappointing book. Breezed through it in 10 minutes and didn't see anything I didn't already know (NB: I don't think that makes me a pro ;) ). The topics got me to purchase the book. I felt like there was a broad range but discovered there were only about 4 sentences per topic. 4 sentences on the anatomy of a mouthpiece is totally insufficient for me.
Questions I was hoping to be able to answer after reading the table of contents:
How does the mouthpiece bore relate to reed strength?
How do resonators impact your sound?
What's the ideal way to take care of your reeds while traveling (airplanes + humidity changes ain't fun)?
Rather than get this book, i'd just go to saxontheweb...
