1.0 out of 5 stars The problem with the Y chromosome, March 4, 2010
This review is from: Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy, and Commitment (Hardcover)
I was disgusted by most of the advice in this book. I was shocked by his misogynistic views on love and marriage. It's one thing to help a man feel like a man, but what about a woman's wants and needs? "Give up Scuba diving honey- I don't like you doing it. Oh and if you don't have sex like a horny teenager I will find someone else who will- and that is your fault" I was just so disappointed by this book.

I totally agree.

Men and women in general and men in particular need to know that if a person enjoys something now, (s)he will continue to enjoy it after marriage -- and that goes for hobbies and activies that have nothing to do with sex.

I wonder how many of his own interests Mr. Harvey gave up for his wife. Probably not as many as she gave up for him.

Me too. That doesn't sound like a fun marriage to me, but one that would make me miserable.
I'd like to see some man TRY to make me give up moths, butterflies and Dir en grey.
I will not.

My brother-in-law's wife insisted he give up fishing and hunting. We have all his guns, even the hand gun. She won't even allow them in the house. And that was B 4 they had kids!

A woman who makes her husband give up the things he enjoys doing is just as wrong as a man who makes a woman do it.
