2.0 out of 5 stars WARNING FOR MAC USERS!, September 18, 2007
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Logitech Wave Keyboard (Personal Computers)
Mac users need to know that, as of this writing, Logitech has not released Logitech Control Center software that gives the keyboard functionality for more than the basic functions. I was told by their Customer Support Department that they are "working" on it and it should be released "soon," which he indicated could be weeks or months. Until it's available, I'd strongly advise you not buy the product, since simple functions like controlling the volume and many keyboard shorcuts are disabled.

Other than that, it appears to be a well-designed and capable product, though one much more designed for the Windows user.

Can anyone explain to me why companies release and advertise products before they're functional?

That's interesting, I just wrote the Senior Editor of Macworld to ask him about the product and he states in his email "...I do have a Comfort Wave keyboard, as it turns out, and can confirm that it ships with Mac software -- Logitech Control Center -- that lets you program all of the media keys and such for their Mac equivalents. The Windows and Alt keys are clearly mapped as Command (Apple) and Opt for Mac users, so the Comfort Wave doesn't discriminate for Mac users."

Conflicting stories :-\

I am considering buying one. Perhaps I will have to go into a store and ask to see the contents of the box first.

A. Wang says:
The Logitech Control Center software is available to download for the Cordless Desktop Wave keyboard and mouse combo. But there isn't a download available for this corded Wave keyboard. Argh.

Unfortunately, as of this moment, David is correct. Sigh. And I so wanted to get this one...

The Logitech Control Center 2.30 software is now available to download for the Wave Keyboard (corded version) on the Logitech web site, at the Downloads section.

Bruce Young says:
Does this keyboard have any way to either identify the Mac keys of Option and Apple-Command (which are usually mapped to the Alt and Windows keys on windows centric keyboards), or swap those two key positions and/or key caps?

Otherwise, the product looks like a good attempt at a more human-friedly ergo keyboard.

Thanks.
