Expensive but so handy,
This review is from: Nikon WT-5A Wireless Transmitter (Camera)
I'm really not sure why this costs so much, but I guess Nikon figures you've already bought a D4 so what's wrong a little more price gouging? I took away one star because of the price.
Anyway, price aside, this device is really useful. I used it the other night while shooting my daughter's school talent show. My son was sitting next to me holding an iPad, and we could quickly review the photos on the large screen as I was taking each shot. The latest photo automatically appears on the iPad a couple seconds after you take it.
You can either join an existing Wifi network, or, as I prefer to, set up an ad hoc network that your iPhone/iPad joins -- that way you are not relying on any existing network.

Interestingly, the EyeFi Pro cards will do the exact same thing for 20% of the cost.Eye-Fi Pro X2 8 GB Class 6 SDHC Wireless Flash Memory Card EYE-FI-8PC

Great point but the D4 uses compact flash and XQD cards, not SD cards...

if you buy a $20 adapter, your SD card becomes a CF card, and voila !

Do you need the communication unit for the extra cost as well?
